I was interested to explore more image types in developing the Mirror series, incorporating text, close-ups and effigy-like images. When placed together, the round compositions resemble the tondo, filtered through a personal perspective. Blue and silver colours are used to mirror glimpses of reality and sculptural shapes. "Are you still watching?" and “Video paused” were inspired by the Netflix and Youtube messages, and I liked how it resonates with us: Are we so hooked with technology or can we pause and rethink what to do next? Sculptures are juxtaposed with fragments of landscape, a dialogue between man-made works and nature. The round compositions also reflect fleeting moments, like a fragment of time I try to keep.
